Why does a beard feel tight and itchy?
Beard hair is far thicker than the hair on your head. The skin of the chin produces less sebum than the scalp. So the hair grows on drier ground, then hardens as it dries.
That is what gives the straw-like feel, the itching in the early days of growth, and the hairs that prickle the skin around them.
What coloring changes
Coloring lays pigments on the hair and leaves it more porous than before. It catches more, it feels drier to the touch, and stray hairs become harder to tame.
An oil applied right afterwards closes the loop. It gives back the suppleness the coloring took away, without touching the color itself.
How do you apply it?
Take three to five drops into your palm, rub your palms together to warm the oil, then run your fingers through the beard from the chin down to the ends.
Finish by combing. In the evening, on a clean and dry beard, is when it works best: the oil has all night to do its job.
